After two years alternative King’s Day celebrations, it is finally possible to celebrate again. No mask, no distance … ten thousands of people all over the Netherlands are celebrating the same way as before 2020. The royal family will be present in Maastricht, in the province of Limburg in the south of the Netherlands.
As being the only Dutch speaking person working for a Danish news agency I preferably have to stay at home, so I can report immediately if something interesting happens. I am sitting in front of my computer in an orange shirt with white print and cardigan (it is rather cold, but dry), blue jogging pants and red slippers, wearing all colours of the Dutch flag. Soon I’ll move to the sofa with my laptop, so I can watch television.
Often I go to the bakery, but a few days ago I remembered still having a mix for an easy orange-cheesecake, so that is what I prepared yesterday evening. The chocolates were already eaten yesterday.
The live broadcast is – hopefully also abroad – available here.
