After months of working and waiting royalty photographer Bernard Rübsamen and I yesterday, 23 April 2018, could finally hold our book in our hands. Bernard and his daughter Rosalie picked me up at the railway station of Amersfoort yesterday afternoon. We bought some cake and then headed to the office of Uitgeverij Aspekt in Soesterberg. There we were met by several people working at the publishing company. We had a look at the book, and had a conversation with publisher Perry Pierik about the book, royals and history.
“5 Jaar Koningspaar” is a photobook on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the accession to the throne of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands. It absolutely looks amazing with a very catchy orange cover with a photo from 30 April 2013, the day of the inauguration. Inside is a great selection of photos Bernard took of the royal couple over the past five years. We are really happy with the way the book looks and with the great quality of the photos inside. Of course I didn’t take any of the photos, but I have written most of the texts and helped with the corrections. I also have been following closely what would be in the book.
Of course we had our photos with the book taken. Rosalie by the way took the picture of Bernard which is inside the book, and the two pictures above of me with Bernard and Perry. I took the photo of Bernard and Rosalie.
Our book is currently available online, as well as at the bookshops of Bruna, which can be found all over The Netherlands. It can also be ordered at other bookshops.

Congratulations on the publication – well done.
Congratulations Netty on your successful venture of helping with the publication of this exciting book. I am sure you are very pleased with it and you should be very proud of yourself. The publication of any book on whatever subject is a very worthwhile adventure. But a book on royalty is the ultimate one, in my honest and humble opinion. Very happy for you and the others.
