Another weekend full of Christmas fun. On Saturday afternoon I had the Christmas ball of my folkdance group. And on Sunday there were several Christmas markets. I decided to go to the village of Leek. Big mistake! Only a few shops were open and honestly the announced Christmas market was not worth being announced. Only a few stalls and Santa Claus himself. However I knew also some activities were organized at Nienoord, the castle on the edge of the village. I didn’t stay too long, but the start of the Santa Run by the Rotary Club Leek was unexpectedly fun. 408 people from young to old participated for a good cause: the Dutch Kidney Foundation. More than 6.000 Euro was raised. After a slice of apple cake and hot chocolate with whipped cream I travelled back home. Next year I better choose a different market.
For your information: it was just below O°C, so according to the Dutch freezing cold. Hence the bit of white and the ice on the pond. At least it was looking good enough for a few pictures.
Hi Netty
Maybe the market was disappointing, but the Santas are festive!
Merry Christmas 🐈⬛🌲🎅
Yes, they were. Merry Christmas to you too.
