This weekend there wasn’t only a royal wedding in Romania, but also in Bavaria, Germany. Among the about 400 guests in Bavaria on Saturday 29 September 2018 were quite a few royals and nobles.
In the Basilika Niederalteich Colin McKenzie (born New York 1976) married Countess Anna Theresa von und zu Arco-Zinneberg (born München 1981). The groom grew up in Spain, Brazil and Great Britain. The bride is the eldest of the six daughters of Count Riprand von und zu Arco-Zinneberg and his wife née Archduchess Maria Beatrix of Austria. The family owns the brewery Arcobräu in Moos and Moos Castle in the area of the basilica. The bride is the heir to Moos Castle and already works in the brewery of her father. Anna Theresa’s maternal grandparents were Archduke Robert of Austria (a son of the last Emperor of Austria, Karl) and Princess Margherita of Savoy-Aosta.
The guestlist was rather impressive. Among the people attending the wedding were Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie of Luxembourg, Prince Félix and Princess Claire of Luxembourg, Prince Lorenz and Princess Astrid of Belgium (Lorenz is a brother of the bride’s mother), Archduke Carl Christian and Archduchess Marie-Astrid of Austria, Princess Marie-Christine of Austria and Count Rodolphe de Limburg Stirum, Prince Nikolaus and Princess Margaretha of Liechtenstein, Prince Josef Emanuel of Liechtenstein, and many other royals and nobles.
The witnesses for the groom were the Hon. Maxwell Aitken, the Hon. Hugo Chisholm and Prince Khalid bin Bandar al Saud. The witnesses for the bride were Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume of Luxembourg, Princess Adelheid of Liechtenstein and Hereditary Prince Ferdinand zu Leiningen.
After the wedding bride and groom and their guests first held a reception in front of the basilica, complete with beer, snacks and sausages. They were lucky the weather was rather good. Blasmusik St. Martin im Innkreis took care of the music. Afterwards they all headed by bus for Moos Castle for the party.
A report with photo album in the local Osterhofener Zeitung and at Idowa. See also The Court Jeweller for an insight on Anna Theresa’s jewelry and Royal Musings for a report with even more photos. There were several media photographers present at the wedding. From what I heard there might be reports in Bunte and Point de Vue.
