Prince Alexis Andronikof has married Princess Karina Bagration-Moukhransky civilly in Vannes, France, on 7 October 2023. She has taken the name of Princess Karina Bagration-Andronikof. The religious marriage has been postponed, until the mother of Karina will be able to attend.
Karina Kharysova was born in Kiev, Ukraine, on 25 January 1978 as only child of Vladimir Kharisoff and Lydia Grinenko. She was previously married 2003 (divorced) to Prince Dimitry Bagration-Moukhransky, of the Georgian royal dynasty. In 2017 the head of the family, Prince Nugzar Bagration-Gruzinsky, recognized Karina as a member of the dynasty. Karina descends via her father from the Polish noble family of Malechewsky and the Russian noble families of de Khanzhenkov and de Kharissoff, and via her mother from the Polish noble families Mazur. Her paternal family after the revolution of 1917 fled to France, however her grandparents returned after World War II. After the war with Russia broke out, Karina fled Ukraine in 2022 and settled in France. Her mother remained in Ukraine. She is now writing a book about her war experiences.
Prince Alexis Andronikof “Alexi” was born on 28 October 1980 as the son of Prince Emmanuel Constantinovitch Andronikof (who died in 1995) and Betsy Biedebach, who is related to the family of US-president Richard Nixon and was born in Georgia, USA. His grandfather Prince Constantine Eseevich Andronikof (1916-1997) was a French diplomat, interpreter and advisor to French and American presidents, including John F. Kennedy and Charles de Gaulle. Alexis is a descendant of the Komnenos dynasty.
