Stanislaus & Isabella – Bavarian wedding in Austria

So much to do right now that I totally forgot to post these wedding pictures. As usually copyrighted and taken by a friend of mine.

On Saturday, 25 May 2024, the Benedictine Monastery Stift St. Peter in Salzburg, Austria, experienced a royal wedding, not an Austrian one, but a Bavarian one. Prince Stanislaus of Bavaria married Isabella Hampel. The service was led by abbot Johannes Eckert. The car in which the bride arrived at church belongs to her grandfather maternally Wolfgang Solar. The wedding ceremony was accompanied by the music of Marianne Strauss-William, a mutual friend of the bride and groom. The couple decided to donate the collection from the mass to the “INES” project. This initiative was founded by Father Florian (Prince of Bavaria, uncle of the groom) and builds mobile schools to support nomadic children in northern Kenya in particular. After the ceremony, a small celebration with drinks took place at the square in front of the church. Around 250 guests were invited, including many family members.

The bridal veil made of Brussels lace is a family heirloom of Princess Gudila of Bavaria and comes from the estate of the Counts of Plettenberg in Lenhausen. The dresses for the flower children were sewn by princesses Gudilla and Odilia, while matching jackets were knitted by Agnes Linnet from the bride’s family.

Prince Stanislaus was born on 24 May 1997 as son of Prince Christoph of Bavaria and his wife née Countess Gudila von Plettenberg. He studied landscaping and is a trained precision mechanic. Stanislaus works for a large railway infrastructure company in München, Germany. His grandparents were Prince Rasso of Bavaria and Archduchess Therese of Austria, who is a great-granddaughter of Emperor Franz Joseph and Empress Elisabeth “Sisi”. Isabella was born in Vienna on 2 April 1998 as a daughter of Walter Hampel and his wife Christine née Solar. She studied economics and works for a large auditing company in München, Germany. According to Bild-Zeitung bride and groom met while dancing. The couple got engaged in Salzburg in January 2023. The civil marriage already took place late 2023 or early 2024.
