The book is written by authors Thomas Sjöberg, Tove Meyer and Deanne Rauscher. According to a survey by SVT television only about 25% of the Swedes think that journalists have the right to dig up scandals in the private life of the king, while 50% thinks it is not right to do so. In a press conference following the annual elk hunt King Carl XVI Gustaf said today that he had read some newspaper articles about the book, however he said: “The book came to us quite late yesterday afternoon and I have not had time to read it yet. I can not review a book that I have not yet read. I have seen a number of the headlines that have not been so nice. I have spoken to my family and the Queen. We will turn the page and go on now because as I understand it, this is about things that happened a long time ago.”
