Since most of the Christmas answers arrived – unfortunately not the beloved yearly card from Monaco – it has become silent in my mailbox. However I’ve sent a few cards around May and today received a lovely reply. As usual posted from Buckingham Palace, still with stamp of Kensington Palace at the back of the envelope tough, the card for the birth of Archie Harrison-Mountbatten arrived, days after his christening. The mail was sent on 5 July, so for a change the British mail was quite quickly.
The card has a lovely photo by Chris Allerton on the front, although it seems to be a bit blurred unfortunately. Don’t know whether that was the purpose or that the picture didn’t print too well on the paper used. On the back it says:
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex greatly appreciate you taking the time to write and celebrate the birth of Archie Mountbatten-Windsor.
Their Royal Highnesses have been incredibly touched by all of the warm wishes they have received during this especially joyful time in their lives.
They send their best wishes and heartfelt thanks.
Het moet heel leuk zijn om zo’n kaart te krijgen.
Vergeleken met de meeste mensen heb ik maar een kleine collectie.
