As the media were waiting in the press area at the Grote Markt in Groningen, The Netherlands, on King’s Day on 27 April I looked up and noticed that the flag on the side of the town hall was not hanging correctly. A local photographer and I thought it was really not a good idea to leave it like this. The photographer informed the man escorting our group, and he called someone in the town hall.
It took quite a while, but after about one hour we suddenly noticed the flag was hanging the right way, nicely in time. When the royals arrived at that spot everything looked perfect again. Probably they wouldn’t have noticed, but let’s be honest the flag was hanging above the route and in the view of a TV-camera.
